The Tulsa Garden Center is a non-profit organization that provides people horticultural and environmental education opportunities. It also functions as the horticultural headquarters for Tulsa. This center is located at the Snedden Mansion inside the Woodward Park.
The primary tasks of the garden center is to provide lectures, training, classes, plant shows, and other special events all throughout the year. Such events are free for the center’s members. Tulsa Garden Center can help enhance the network its members as it is affiliated with 20 organizations such as Tulsa Garden Club, the Sierra Club, Tulsa Rose Society, and the Audubon Society. Such affiliates add more to the extensive list of educational opportunities and special events that can be participated by the community.
Tulsa Garden Center visitors may also enjoy the building’s architecture and historical photographs that are showcased all over the mansion. These photos depict the home when it was still the Snedden Mansion. Majority of the mansion’s home still hold the original craftsmanship and design of the original structure. Some of the elements that you should take note of are the exquisite wood carvings, the exotic marble floors, and the gold leaf ceilings.
A walk around the Tulsa Garden Center and the Woodward Park will show you a variety of blooms that you might not have seen in the past. Summer is the perfect time to visit the garden especially when all the roses are in full bloom. There are volunteer opportunities open for everyone.
