The Oklahoma Aquarium features more than 100 exhibits which makes it a must-visit for everyone who visits Oklahoma. You can find seahorses, stingrays, jellyfish, and other interesting marine creatures you don’t usually sea anywhere. You can also find local fish species and the popular river otter when you go to the Hayes Family Ozark Stream.
While in the aquarium, don’t miss out on the largest exhibit, the Siegfried Families Shark Adventure. This exhibits includes a 500,000 gallon tank which serves as home to the largest bull sharks in captivity. The exhibit also showcases lemon sharks, nurse sharks, and tiger sharks. You would find a domed walkthrough in this exhibit which would give you the chance to get into a real shark adventure.
You also don’t want to miss out on the AEP-PSO Extreme Amazon exhibit which is great for the adventurous little ones. Here your kids will be able to crawl through tunnels and many pop-up spots as they try to find iguanas and exotic fish. A sea turtle exhibit is also in its final stages of completion, and it is expected to be a popular attraction soon.
The aquarium also features several touch tanks which are popular attractions in the area. With such tanks, you would get to experience the slippery feel of stingrays and the scaly skin of some small sharks. Kids will also be able to feed stingrays and sea turtles in other tanks. The Ozark Stream is a must see since it features a lot of playful creatures like raccoons, beavers, and otters that may scamper just a few inches away from your eyes.
